Under Attack!

Proponents of Prop 8 are flooding leaders who stand with us with critical emails, urging them to oppose equality.

It is up to each of us to make sure they get more emails from those who support equality than from those who continue to attack us.

Send the Governor and our legislative leaders a message that out of state right wing special interest groups have no place in California and thank them for standing on the right side of history.

Email Governor Schwarzenegger, and the 44 members of the California Legislature who signed a friend of the court brief to overturn Prop 8. Encourage them to stand strong in the face of these outrageous attacks.

PROTEST FOR LGBTQ RIGHTS!

Tuesday night was a bitter-sweet celebration. We came together to witness the first black man who will become our president, yet watched in sadness as Florida, Arizona, Arkansas, and California all voted down equal rights for all citizens.

This is not a 4 state issue. This is an issue of equality across America. Stand up and make your voice heard. Visit the main www.jointheimpact.com to learn more.

Protest Organizers: Find your city's page and fill out info about where, when, and other exciting details.

WE NEED VOLUNTEERS! Now is your chance to be a "community organizer"! We need 3 or 4 dedicated volunteers in each town to contact the clubs and organizations in your area and to print/distribute flyers to get a turnout in your town.

Congrats Connecticut!!!!!

On Friday, Connecticut became the third state to legalize same-sex marriage.  The court ruled that is unconstitutional to deny gays and lesbians the same rights are heterosexuals and that civil unions are not the same as marriage.

Let's hope that this right is not taken away from us in California.  Please remember to vote on November 4th and remember to VOTE NO ON PROP 8!

FAQ's

Why Broom and Gride™?
My partner and I started this business shortly after getting married. We couldn't relate to the terms "bride" or "groom" so we created our own. We know several of you can relate!

How do I know who the "Broom" is or who the "Gride' is?
This is the beauty...you can mix and match however you want. We wanted to come up for something that is gender neutral because everyone does not fit in a neat little box.

Where should we wear these shirts?
Where ever you want!! We wore ours to our bachelorette party, rehearsal dinner, our reception, to pride events, and pretty much everywhere else. Others have told us that they have bought them for engagement gifts for their friends who are getting married, bachelorette or bachelor presents, shower gifts, or because they are just very excited their sons or daughters got married

Where can I buy these shirts?
Visit our website www.broomandgride.com

Do you have any other products?
We have a lot of ideas in the works and some will be out sooner then others. If you want to be updated as soon as something new is out please sign up for our newsletter.
(We don't spam our friends and you can unsubscribe at anytime)

Can we find you at festivals and other pride events?
Yes, we were at Monterrey Pride this year, SF Pride(although we did not have a booth) and plan on doing some more local events. We will keep you posted and please keep us posted of events you think we should be at. We are located in the Bay Area. We have also done radio interviews, and are looking for other radio stations, magazines, tv shows that are interested in us. Please contact us at orders@broomandgride.com

Who Is Broom and Gride?

We are a lesbian couple who recently got married!  We couldn't relate to being called "brides" or "grooms" since we thought those terms were outdated.  So, we decided to combine the two and came up with "Broom" and "Gride."  We got shirts made and wore them to our bachelorette party, our rehearsal dinner, and our reception the night of the big day.  We received a lot of feedback about our shirts an decided if WE couldn't relate to being "brides" or "grooms" that there were others out there who would agree.  Not only did our gay and lesbian friends love our shirts but so did our straight friends!

Currently we are just selling two shirts but we have many ideas in the works.  Sign up for our newsletter, visit our myspace page, send us an email, we would love to hear from you!  Thank you for all of your support.  We appreciate your business and helping us to spread the word about www.broomandgride.com

Pride of Monterey

We had a booth at "Pride of Monterey" in Monterey, California on July 12, 2008.  Pride of Monterey is an annual LGBT event that takes place outdoors with a number of vendor, food, music, and informational booths.  The crowd was great, the music was great, the food was good, we will definitely be back next year.  We met a lot of amazing people and the response we received was warm and very inviting.
